MY MIND MAP

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! How are you today?Alhamdulillah , my day was not so bad for today so I hope it goes the same to everyone.OK, today, I would like to tell you guys a little bit about what I had learn in Science Computer subject.OK,so today *acting like a teacher* we will go through the subtopic in chapter 2 which is system concept. In my mind map below, I have already list out all the important terms that we need to memorize in this subtopic which is the meaning of computer, data, information and computer system.OK, so for computer..What is the meaning of computer?Computer is an electronic device(machine) that performs four basic operations, input, processing, output and storage. And for data..Data is a collection of unprocessed items, which can include text, numbers, images, audio and video. Next, what about information and computer system? Information is a data that has been processed into meaningful form and is useful to people while computer system is a collection of related computer components (hardware &software) that have been designed to work together smoothly.OK, that’s all for the first mind map.Now let’s go to the second mind map.

This second mind map is still under the subtopic for chapter 2.But for this mind map, I will tell you guys about the difference between bit and byte.First of all, before explaining the difference between both of it, I will tell you guys about the similarities between them which is both of it represents data in computer. So for the differences, firstly bit is the smallest unit of data a computer can process that consist 0(off) or 1(on) while byte is eight bits grouped together as a unit to store a single character up to 256 individual characters. Apart from that, bit also used to measure data transfer rate of computer communications devices (Kbps,Mbps,Gbps) while byte is used to measure storage capacity(KB,MB,GB,TB,PB).

OK,now let’s move to another mind map which is also under the subtopic of chapter 2.For this mind map, I will tell you guys about the coding systems which consists of ASCII, EBCDIC and Unicode. Firstly, ASCII ( American Standard Code for Information Interchange) used 8 bits to represent a character same goes to EBCDIC (Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange Code). ASCII and EBCDIC also represents 256 character. For ASCII, it is primarily used on minicomputers, personal computers and server while for EBCDIC , it is primarily used on IBM mainframe, midrange systems and high-end servers. For Unicode, it use 16 bits to represent a character and it also represent 65536 characters. It’s also implemented in several OS(Windows,Mac OS X , Linux). And that’s all for coding systems in chapter 2.

Let’s move on to the next and the last mind map*thank God* .OK, for this mind map, it’s actually the formula for logic gate. It is quite easy as I bet that all of you (for science students) have already seen this in your physics subject which I can’t remember whether it is in form 5 of 4. But over all,for this logic gate, the most important thing is you really need to remember the symbol for all of the gate such as AND, NOT and OR.Second thing is you need to know what all of that gate represents for. For NOR and NAND ,it’s actually a combination from AND,NOT and OR.

I think that’s all for my mind map. I hope you guys could understand all of the explanation above and thank you so much for reading this… Love yaa.. Assalamualaikum and annyeong..Jalgayo!!
